Thanks for an amazing Kickstarter launch

Night Crew

Hey, Irene here, taking over for James since he's slammed with kickstarter things. Just thought I'd give you all a summary of what's been going on over there...

Cyberpunk Legends started out during the COVID years with the kernel of an idea to take the experience of a tabletop RPG and turn it into a co-op card game. Thanks to all of you incredible backers, that dream is really real. We didn’t just blow past our funding goal in 19 minutes, didn’t just raise over $500,000 in 24 hours, but raised over $700,000 in our first week!

With all your support, you’ve made us one of the top funded games live on Kickstarter. Words can’t properly express the depth of the gratitude we all feel here at Night Crew Games, but we’ll keep trying. Your support means we're going to be able to make this game everything we'd ever hoped.

If you want to see the core gameplay you can check out our stream of Scenario 1 from launch day here.

As we look to the future of our Kickstarter campaign and getting the game out for real, I wanted to take this opportunity to look back at some of the amazing milestones we’ve all reached together…

Stretch Goals

We’re already blowing past our stretch goals. This is what we’ve unlocked so far, and this will surely be out of date by the time you read this.

  • $100,000 - We're now streaming every week! We'll specifically be streaming Gauntlet. Come tell us how to make it better!
  • $200,000 - Six random foils in the box. Even better: these foils will come in their own little pack and be DUPLICATES of cards you're getting with the box, so you don't have to decide on whether to play with your foils or just put them somewhere for safe keeping.
  • $300,000 - TOKENS GETTING THICK
  • $400,000 - Better dividers. We can afford to do some of the organizational tweaks I want to do to the box/inserts. I'm excited about this.
  • $500,000 - Oh my god...I did not expect to be here so quickly. We're going to offer all of our art free for non-commercial use. That just means we have to put the whole library up somewhere and get our lawyer to put some wording together that enables us to do that. So forgive us if this one takes us a wee bit. Every member of the team is swamped with Kickstarter stuff.
  • $600,000 - Better art! There was a tiny group of cards that I really wanted us to touch up...and now we can! Our art director is very pleased.
  • $700,000 - This means we're going to hire professionals to make tutorial videos for the game!

We've also added Instagram to the social stretch goals so if you want to help us out, or just get more cards share this or this. And for those of you looking to game the system...yes, if you share both we count both.

Add-Ons

Thanks to your feedback, we’ve also put up several new add-ons requested by YOU!

  • Foil Print Sheets
We've had so many people reach out about all foil print sheets that we're going to do it! I love that people want this. Gotta get the shinies!!!
  • A 6-Playmat Bundle
I figured "There's up to 4 players, people will want a bundle of 4 play mats..." Nope! A bunch of you phenomenal fiends want all 6. You're all breathtaking.
  • 10 More "Your Name In The Game" Slots
We got flooded with requests for more of these. Why were they so limited? Well the first group were for a puzzle I had in mind; I could use any names, so I thought "it'd be fun to let fans choose". Some people were pretty bummed about missing out on that though, so we opened up 10 more.

The new 10 won't be in any specific place (they might not even be in the text, yours might be on a store sign in the background of the art) and will be fulfilled much more slowly than the first 5 because I don't want to saturate any scenario with them.

[If you're wondering why it sounds like I'm trying to unsell you on them, it's because, while I really want to do this for people, I'm not willing to do it in a way that will disrupt play or break immersion, and I don't want anyone to be disappointed that these are going to take a while to come out. -JP]
  • Gauntlet Update - Made by You!
One of the things I've always wanted to do with this company, one of the only ways I think we can compete with the giant gaming megacorps, is to iterate faster. To show you unfinished things, get a thousand eyeballs on them and then tear those things apart and rebuild them.

Corrections

Sharp-eyed backers reported a few errors, which we’ve noted and did our best to correct.

  • Legendary and every tier above it contains the Hard Mode pack.
This is my fault, mea maxima culpa. I was working on the tiers at 3 am the night before and deleted Hard Mode from the list. It's still connected on the back end though so if you ordered any of those tiers we've got you. If you bought Hard Mode as an add-on alongside a higher tier, totally refund it. I know that's a pain. I'm sorry!

  • The icon for the Personal Playmat is wrong.
We let an old icon slip through here. The playmats featured on the main page and in the icon for the 4 Pack of Personal Playmats are the versions you'll get to choose from the pledge manager...though if you love any of these let us know ; )

Unfortunately the way that Kickstarter tech works we can't just change these, but we're working with the folks at Kickstarter and will hopefully have everything appearing correctly soon.

News Hallucinations

Lastly: you made us popular enough that the AI newsbots have picked us up...AND THEY ARE HALLUCINATING FURIOUSLY.

So if you see a piece with choice quotes like how impressive it is that we raised "over £560!" that the game was made by one of a dozen different questionably extant studios or that it is "voiced by top notch talent" take pride, this is all your doing ; )

Thanks Again

If you have any questions at all, if there's something you'd like to recommend, or if you just want to send some encouragement to our exhausted (but very happy) team feel free to comment, email us or hit us up on the Night Crew Games Discord.

I'll just say thank you one more time. Your support has been amazing and you've all extended us a lot of patience and grace as we clung on for dear life while this grew and grew. Things are mostly sorted now and next week should be much smoother.

Thank you again. Your support means everything.
