How We Structured Cyberpunk Legends
Night CrewWe've gotten a ton of questions already about how the game works, so I’m going to try to explain Cyberpunk Legends a bit.
We structured it like a run.
Basically there’s a scenario deck that’s like an old D&D module, it’s a self contained adventure that’s often part of a larger campaign.
Then there’s the player decks which are basically your characters: they represent all the skills you have, the equipment you’ve gained and the contacts you’ve made along the way. As you complete scenarios and grow towards becoming a legend you’ll be able to upgrade and modify your player decks…unless, of course, you flatline.
As you play, you and your crew (or a ‘mercenary’ if you’re running it single player) work together to get through the scenario deck.
Whoever’s the leader (it moves around) flips the top card of the scenario deck, reads it aloud, you follow any instructions on it.
If it’s an obstacle, as a team you make a collaborative poker hand to try and overcome it (more on that when I have another 300 words to blow through).
Simple as that…if you don’t count the traps, choices, and mysteries to solve along the way.
As always, if you want to talk game mechanics, join our Discord and make contact. We want to hear your thoughts. We’ll even be recruiting some of you to playtest the game.
