Cyberpunk Legends is Art Locked
Night CrewWith this image, we are officially art locked as of a couple weeks ago. We announced it to our Kickstarter backers, but it’s a big enough deal that I thought it deserved a moment on our official blog, too. This is a huge milestone for us to be able to say, all the art is in, it's ready. That means we are very close to manufacturing lock.

The art was the biggest risk on our side. Because we're working with a lot of artists and because, sometimes artists aren't the most schedule-oriented people. If our ship date was going to slip because of anything on our end, it was almost certainly going to be art.
Risks and schedule-sweat aside, the artwork has been an absolute joy to work on. To get all earnest for a minute, there are few things in life more special and important to me than meeting, discovering, working with, and being inspired by real, individual, human artists. To discover a new portfolio or piece that stops me in my tracks, to reach out and talk with a real person who might be thousands of miles away, and connect over a shared creative impulse or vision—this is something I live for. And given our “interesting” increasingly dystopian times, I get a true sense of satisfaction knowing that we are hiring talented humans for original creative work (while many others are cancelling jobs and using AI slop instead).
So! Hundreds of sketches and finished images later, here we are, art locked 3 days before the schedule says we had to be or else push back production. A huge thanks to every single artist and graphic designer who has contributed to this project so far to make it what it is!
Does this mean it's all smooth sailing from here? No! There are still plenty of ship date risks from the manufacturing and localizing side. Then there's the chaos caused by the ever present changes to tariffs, which makes a lot about fulfillment less certain than we’d like it to be. But from our side, the biggest hurdle is now firmly in the bag.
